Crownpoint Pre-K-5th Elementary School

Gallup McKinley County Public Schools, Crownpoint, NM

Organized by “learning pods” the flexible classrooms encourage and support collaborative teaching.  The light filled, technology rich, learning environment engages the students.   A central core holds the media center, cafeteria, and admin area.  Expanded corridors function as ‘commons’ spaces used as an extended learning space.  When the gymnasium and cafeteria are combined the space serves as an important community resource.  Sustainable design features achieved a 30% energy savings over similar sized schools.
